Valuable coin stolen from trade show in Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH) — Police are looking for a man that stole a coin worth thousands of dollars Saturday afternoon from a currency trade show in Naugatuck.

The coin was taken from the Naugatuck Coin & Currency Show in the American Legion at 21 Cedar St. The coin was reported stolen at 1:30 p.m. and the suspect was present at the show for only 10 minutes.

The suspect was seen purchasing a silver coin and leaving with a PGA Gold 1.5 oz coin that he did not pay for. The PGA coin’s value is approximately $3,900.
