Oklahoma City Braces for Biting Cold, Possible Snow Showers Ahead

Oklahoma City residents can expect a chilly but mostly sunny day today with temperatures peaking at around 31 degrees. A persistent north wind blowing at a steady 6 to 9 mph will keep the wind chill factor at a biting 4 degrees Fahrenheit in the early hours. Daylight will bring scant relief from the cold as the sun makes a placid show in the mostly cloudy sky, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight, the mercury dips slightly lower, settling at a predicted low of 17 degrees. That same northern wind, now 7 to 9 mph will continue to sweep across the city landscape. While the sun is set to dominate the skies on Wednesday, conditions will remain brisk with a high circling the 35-degree mark, as calm settles in the afternoon replacing the biting northern gusts, as reported by the National Weather Service.
