Major League Volleyball coming to Sacramento in 2026

(KTXL) – Get ready for another professional team in Sacramento.

One year from now, in January of 2026, California’s capital city will be home to a volleyball franchise in a newly created women’s league, Major League Volleyball. There will be at least ten teams in the league from all over the United States, and one of them will be in Sacramento as Kings owner Vivek Ranadive is a founding member of MLV.

“Major League Volleyball aims to create a premier professional pathway for women’s volleyball, emphasizing grassroots development, athlete empowerment and fan engagement,” according to USA Volleyball, which sent out a news release on Thursday. “The league aspires to be the top women’s pro sports league in the U.S., offering elite competition and rivalries, excellent medical and training support, top venues and major broadcast partnerships.”…
