Lane Closures Expected for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of scheduled bridge inspections that will prompt temporary lane closures on Interstate 95’s Girard Point Bridge and other key routes in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties.

These inspections will begin on Tuesday, January 14, and continue through Monday, January 20. Lane closures will occur as follows:

  • Tuesday, January 14 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.): Right lane closure on the southbound Passyunk Avenue Bridge between 61st Street and 28th Street in Philadelphia.
  • Wednesday, January 15 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.): Right lane closure on the southbound deck of the I-95 Girard Point Bridge between Broad Street (Route 611) and Enterprise Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia.
  • Thursday, January 16 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.): Right lane closure on the northbound deck of the Girard Point Bridge between the same interchanges in Philadelphia.
  • Friday, January 17 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.): Left lane closure on the northbound deck of the Girard Point Bridge in the same vicinity.
  • Monday, January 20 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.): Right lane closure on the southbound I-476 ramp to I-76 in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County.

Motorists traveling through these areas should plan for potential delays and allow extra time. PennDOT reminds drivers to exercise caution while navigating work zones. All scheduled activities are dependent on weather conditions.
