Pasadena couple buys island on Chesapeake Bay for $1.75 million

PASADENA, Md. — Pasadena residents Nichole and Martin Bentz gave their friends a warning before sharing the news of their latest acquisition: a $1.75 million island and marina along the Chesapeake Bay.

“We tell them, ‘I’m going to say something that sounds crazy, but we acquired an island,'” Nichole Bentz said during a tour of the property.

The husband-and-wife duo bought the Hammock Island Marina at 8083 Ventnor Road in August from the couple who originally developed the small island and ran the business for 50 years. It includes a three-bed, 2-bath home on the mainland, and a dock connects the waterfront parcel to a small island with a loft and bathhouse that is surrounded by boat slips…
