The Chicago Bears are in their bye week enjoying a 4-2 start to the season. Another team that is off to a similarly strong start is the Pittsburgh Steelers with Justin Fields at the helm. The former Bears QB is having the best stretch of his career, leading his new team to a 4-2 record with a career-high 66.3% completion rate, five touchdowns, and one interception while adding 231 yards and five scores on the ground.
Not only does it make Bears fans happy to see their former player finally find success, but it also helps Chicago in a big way. When the Bears traded Fields to Pittsburgh in the offseason, they received a conditional 2025 sixth-round pick. The condition was that if Fields played in 51% of snaps, the draft pick would become a fourth-round pick.
After Fields’ start, many had assumed that the Bears would get the fourth-rounder. It turns out that may not be a guarantee. According to reports, the Steelers are giving veteran Russell Wilson first-team reps in practice this week and could potentially play him in Week 7.
