Towanda, Pa. — A contractor failed to show for a job in Towanda after being given a large amount of money.
Joseph Brink, 36, took $28,900 from victims so he could buy supplies to build a deck at a home in the 800 block of Fourth Street in Towanda, according to a complaint. The check was cashed in February of this year.
In March, the accusers sent messages to Brink asking when he was going to start the job, Towanda Police Officer Trevor Wills said. They continued to communicate until Aug. 5 when the victims sent a formal request asking for their money back, Wills added. Brink never picked the letter up, Wills wrote in his report…
