After seeing Elmira close within four points with a 95-yard touchdown drive that followed a goal-line stand, the Corning sideline reminded the Hawks’ offense the biggest drive of the season to this point was coming up.
That unit responded, putting together an eight-play, 80-yard drive capped by James Freeman’s 18-yard touchdown run on fourth and 1 with four minutes remaining as the Hawks prevailed, 24-12, at Corning Memorial Stadium.
