ITHACA, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Police are investigating after shots were fired at an Ithaca apartment complex early on Saturday morning.
According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers were on their way to a reported dispute at an apartment on the 600 block of Chestnut Street (West Village Apartments) at about 5 a.m. on Nov. 16 when multiple people called 911 to report gunshots in the area.
Police say the officers who arrived at the scene found out that there was a physical altercation between several people who knew each other. Officers saw and collected multiple pieces of evidence that confirmed several shots had been fired into the residence.

Multiple people were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting, but no gunshot-related injuries were reported. The incident was not random, and police say there is no threat to the community…
