OWEGO, N.Y. (WETM) – A local football talent has earned a prestigious honor from a national outlet and an NFL team.
Owego High School’s Alex Aubel has been tabbed as nominee by USA Football and the New York Giants for the annual Heart of a Giant Award. Each week, fans can vote for Alex and if she advances to the final rounds, Aubel could potentially earn a $10,000 equipment award for her school’s program.
Aubel helped lead the River Hawks to a Section IV Championship and a New York State Final Four as a member of the Owego girls flag football program. Alex caught 77 passes for 700 yards and 11 touchdowns this past spring…
