Sayre mom sentenced to prison

Sayre, PA. — A Bradford County woman will spend several months in jail after she stole a vehicle and wrecked it.

Amy L. Gusler, 41, was caught after she stole a truck from a resident on South Elmer Avenue in Sayre on March 18, drove it to Waverly, NY, and wrecked it. She was sentenced to four to 23 months behind bars for the felony charge.

Gusler will also spend a year on probation after police say she hid her boyfriend at her house, then lied to police when they came to pick him up. There was a court-ordered Protection from Abuse Order against her boyfriend that was put in place to protect Gusler’s children, according to court records. Gusler was initially charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children, three counts of hindering prosecution, and resisting arrest. In exchange for a plea deal, prosecutors dropped the endangering and resisting charges and allowed Gusler to plead guilty to a single count of hindering prosecution…
