CLEVELAND, Ohio – Visitors to Cleveland’s downtown lakefront could soon be paying new fees for parking, dining, retail purchases, hotel stays, and special events under a plan pitched by Mayor Justin Bibb that’s meant to help finance major upgrades to the area north of the Shoreway.
As part of the plan, downtown lakefront property owners could also be paying additional property fees on top of their usual property taxes.
Taken together, these new fees would help pay for construction of a land bridge between North Coast Harbor and the heart of downtown, plus public parks, parking facilities, pathways and other lakefront infrastructure…
