Back and forth action sees River Hawks top Forks

CHENANGO FORKS, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – It was a wet and rainy night in the area. Chenango Forks, ranked 12th in Class B, took on a hungry River Hawks team that was coming in battle-tested.

Owego. Holding a 1-0 lead at the half, and this game was going back and forth. The ball was played down the wing for Aubrey McMullen to chase. She plays it across the wet surface and it’s Maggie O’Conner with the shot, but it’s a big save from Olivia Dodge. Then it’s Dodge again. A beautifully floated ball finds CC Kasmarcik, but again it’s saved. Now we go the other way. Shot from distance goes through Piper Collins hand with the wet weather but she is able to keep it from crossing the line and cover up.

In a closely contested match, the River Hawks won, 1-0…
