The Central New York Community Foundation has announced grant opportunities for local nonprofit organizations are now available through the organization’s Bright Idea initiative. Nonprofits in Cortland County are encouraged to submit their Bright Idea that would enhance their organization to better serve the community. Nonprofits who are chosen for their idea will receive a $5,000 grant.
Local nonprofit organizations have until Tuesday, February 18th to submit their Bright Idea. The CNY Community Foundation has an online form via their website, HERE. The Bright Idea program is now in its 8th year with over $300,000 awarded to numerous nonprofit organizations. The foundation says any tax-excempt, nonprofit organization that is either located in and/or serves Cortland County is eligible to submit one application for the grant.
This will include groups classified as nonprofit charitable organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code or an organization that is publicly supported (municipality or school district). The foundation also says grants for religious purposes will not be considered…
