Man who worked for East Hartford police dispatch shot and killed by police in San Francisco

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — A man who was shot and killed by police in San Francisco during a confrontation last month had previously worked at the East Hartford Police Dept. as a dispatcher, officials confirmed Friday.

East Hartford police confirmed that Peter Francis Hodge, Jr., 50, had once worked for the police department as a dispatcher. It’s not clear how long he worked for East Hartford police or why he left the job. Police in San Francisco said Hodge was working as a security guard in the city.
