WATCH: Rock blasting underway on I-70 near Floyd Hill

Since late October, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) crews have been blasting into mountain rock surrounding I-70’s Floyd Hill corridor just past Evergreen on westbound I-70.

On Tuesday, media was invited to watch CDOT crews blast into a hill south of the interstate in a move officials say will help improve sight lines, straighten curves and improve several bridges.

The Floyd Hill project, about 18 months underway already, is slated to be completed in late 2028…
