SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – All eyes are on the tropics. Three disturbances have opportunities to develop into tropical systems over seven day. The biggest area of concern is the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, as disturbance #2 has the best opportunity to develop.

As of Sunday it has a 70% chance of developing into at least a tropical depression over seven days. Both the American and European models show tropical development at the end of the week, and potentially making landfall in the panhandle of Florida. Much can change between now and the end of the week. However, it is important to remain informed on this system.

Meanwhile, Sunday should make for a hot and favorable day on the beach and out at sea. It should be dry during the most of the day then possible showers in the evening. Boating conditions will be comfortable with seas about a foot with a light chop in bay and inland waters. Winds will come from the northeast in the morning then change to a northerly flow in the afternoon averaging five knots…
