Volleyball Rallies for Five-Set Win Over Clarion

Clarion, Pa. – After falling behind 2-0, the Edinboro volleyball team took the next three sets for a critical 3-2 win at Clarion Tuesday night in PSAC West play.

In the decisive fifth set, Edinboro got out to a 6-3 lead after a Faith Schneider kill. Clarion answered with a 5-1 run to grab an 8-7 lead as the teams switched sides of the net. A kill from Kasey Smith and a Golden Eagle error gave Edinboro a 9-8 edge. The match see-sawed with the teams trading points and the Scots holding a 12-11 edge after an Erika Lindqvist kill. Clarion scored the next two points on kills from Emily Klapp and Raegan Stader to reclaim the lead 13-12. A Jessica Hardin kill and Clarion error gave the lead back to the Scots 14-13. After a Clarion kill, Smith notched back-to-back kills to seal the victory for Edinboro.

The Golden Eagles took the opening set 25-14 and followed it up with a 25-15 win in the second set to go up 2-0 in the match…
