Posey County Sheriff’s Office officials say an Evansville woman was arrested on theft and burglary charges Friday. According to a press release, deputies located broken glass and several items of value taken from Whackerz, a business specializing in golf simulations on Thursday. During the investigation, a Sheriff’s detective observed surveillance footage and saw a female breaking out a window to get into Whackerz. The female, later identified as Jessica Jeanette Guth, entered the business and stole a computer and several sets of golf clubs. Surveillance footage also showed Guth arriving in a black passenger car, which was later identified by make and model. On Friday, Posey County deputies were dispatched to an unnamed business across the street from Whackerz after the owner of the business told deputies his truck was broken into the night prior. After further investigation it was believed that the theft was related to the burglary at Whackerz. Posey County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on State Road 66 in Wadesville on a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle in the surveillance footage. They were able to locate in the trunk of the vehicle the stolen computer from Whackerz. While conducting the investigation, deputies went to a residence and located several sets of golf clubs that were identified as stolen from Whackerz. Guth was transported to the Posey County Sheriff’s Office where she was questioned by a detective and admitted to committing the burglary and theft.
