Inmate dead in suspected drug overdose at Lebanon Correctional, coroner says

TURTLECREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) – An inmate is dead in a suspected drug overdose at a state prison in Warren County, the coroner says.

The 50-year-old man’s body was found around 6:15 a.m. Monday inside his cell at the Lebanon Correctional Institution off Ohio 63 in Turtlecreek Township east of Interstate 71, according to Dr. Russell Uptegrove.

The inmate had no life-threatening diseases such as cancer or traumatic injuries. When he was found, foam was coming from his nose in pulmonary edema which is commonly a sign of a drug overdose, the coroner said…
