MPD identifies man killed during shooting that left 3 DC police officers injured

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has released new details after three police officers were injured and a man was killed during a shooting Monday morning.

In an update on Tuesday, D.C. police identified the man as 45-year-old Derrick Williams of Northeast.

According to MPD, the incident began just after 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 13, when officers were called to the i5 Union Market apartment building in the 300 block of Florida Avenue for a man armed with a gun.
