Antioch police recover firearm during proactive patrol

ANTIOCH, California — A proactive patrol by the Antioch Police Department led to the recovery of a firearm during a music video shoot in a parking lot. Officer Kawalya discovered the weapon while responding to a call for service.Officer Kawalya observed a large group filming a music video in the Romis parking lot, despite “No Loitering” signs and no attempts to enter the store, according to a statement from the Antioch Police Department. Upon contacting a male sitting in a vehicle, Officer Kawalya noticed freshly burned marijuana and smoke emanating from the vehicle, with marijuana present inside, not in a sealed container.The individual provided a false name and began reaching around inside the vehicle, prompting Officer Kawalya to remove and detain him. A search incident to arrest revealed a 10mm Glock under the driver’s seat, which was not registered to the individual. The suspect was subsequently transported and booked into county jail, stated the Antioch Police Department……
