City leaders celebrate New Haven’s 241st birthday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — One of Connecticut’s major cities is celebrating its birthday.

New Haven police investigating 1st homicide of 2025

New Haven turned 241-years-old on Tuesday, and city leaders such as Mayor Justin Elicker, the city historian and others gathered at the New Haven Museum to celebrate. Elicker is encouraging people to get out and learn more about the city with a list called “25 in ’25.”

“25 historic places to visit in New Haven in 2025,” Elicker said. “It’s a checklist people can go through to educate themselves on a lot of interesting historical sites in the city.”
