ORANGE, CT (WFSB) An investigation by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) has concluded that an Orange police officer’s use of deadly force during a shoplifting incident on September 15, 2023, was unreasonable and unjustified.

The incident began at approximately 10 PM when Officer Kurt Correia and Officer Eric Ristaino were dispatched to Burlington Coat Factory in response to reports of shoplifting.
