TAUNTON — Ed Correira — the mayor’s former chief of staff and a former mayoral candidate himself — has paid a $6,000 penalty for violating the state conflict of interest law, the Massachusetts Ethics Commission announced .
The Ethics Commission describes multiple instances where Correira violated the conflict of interest law. Correira and the Commission then entered into an agreement where Correira waived his right to a hearing, admitted the violations, and paid a $6,000 penalty.
