It seems like every year, Southern Lee heads to the Battle for the Bell tournament to open it’s men’s soccer season, and every year, it makes out like 1970s rock star Meat Loaf, as in two out of three ain’t bad.
This season, the Cavaliers lost their first game of the event on a shootout, but they still ended up leaving Fayetteville with their usual two wins. After surviving a second shootout following a drawn match on Thursday, Southern returned for Saturday’s final day and played by far its best all-around match of the three-day event, routing Overhills 4-0 in the fifth-place game of this year’s tournament…
