When asked about the state of the cleanup efforts in downtown Seattle, Harrell expressed a mix of optimism and realism. He acknowledged that the issue of homelessness and drug use on the streets has been a focal point of his administration.

“I face that question every day,” Harrell said. “And every day, I go out, and people tell me, ‘I see the change. I see the energy. I see the results of your investments.’” He noted that while many in the community have seen improvements, he remains committed to continuing the work until Seattle reaches its full potential.
