Security Breach at Sea-Tac Leads to Arrest of Unticketed Passenger on Flight to Honolulu

SEA-TAC – In an astonishing security lapse at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, a woman managed to bypass security checks, spend the night within airport premises, and board a flight to Honolulu without a ticket. The incident culminated in her arrest on Christmas Eve, according to airport officials.

Delta flight 487 was already taxiing on Tuesday afternoon when it was discovered that an unticketed passenger was aboard. The aircraft promptly returned to the terminal, and Port of Seattle police responded to the situation. Although the woman exited the plane and evaded initial capture, she was subsequently located and arrested in a terminal bathroom, stated Port of Seattle spokesperson Perry Cooper.

The woman, said to be in her 30s, now faces charges of criminal trespass and making false statements, per jail records. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) confirmed that while the suspect did pass through a security checkpoint on Monday evening without a boarding pass, she was screened and found not to carry any prohibited items. “TSA takes any incidents that occur at our checkpoints nationwide seriously and will conduct an independent review of what occurred at the travel-documents checking station,” a TSA representative remarked.
