Flint student caught with stolen handgun at high school

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – A student at Flex High School on Flint’s north side is facing two felony charges after administrators caught him with a stolen gun in his backpack.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said the 18-year-old male student is charged with receiving or concealing a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The teen faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Leyton said the student showed up to Flex High School, which is located in the Hallwood Plaza at the intersection of Clio and Pierson roads, with the handgun inside his backpack on Monday…
