SYCAMORE — Injuries have been unfair to Mohawk’s Kahne Hayman. He had to watch from the sidelines last week as the Warriors suffered their first Northern 10 Athletic Conference football loss to Upper Sandusky.

He was back on the field with his teammates Friday and made it count as the Warriors beat rival Carey for the first time in six years, 27-14, to set up a winner-take-all game for the N10 title next week.

“If you don’t know, it’s been a long journey for me with injuries,” Hayman said. “Freshman year is the only year I got to play a whole season. Sophomore year, I broke my leg. Last year, I broke my wrist, so getting hurt a couple weeks ago on something not even football-related, it just tears you apart. These are the moments you come back for. This is what high school football is about, man. Nothing else really to say about it.”…
