IMPD bodycam footage shows moments leading up to shooting, K9 injury at business on Indy’s near south side

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has released edited bodycam footage from an officer-involved shooting that came after a police K9 was stabbed on Indy’s near south side two years ago.

According to a graphic that appears at the beginning of the video, officers responded to Greene’s Auto and Truck Service, located at 111 W. Raymond Street, in response to a report of a break-in at a business around 7:54 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2023.

According to previous reports , officers arrived and found signs of forced entry into the business. The business owner also informed dispatch that they saw someone inside the building on security cameras…
