Indianapolis woman arrested after reported kidnapping in Kokomo

KOKOMO, Ind. — An Indianapolis woman has been preliminarily charged with kidnapping after an incident on Monday morning in Kokomo.

According to a news release from the Kokomo Police Department, 27-year-old Ashton Allen was arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail on Monday on:

  • One count of kidnapping, a Level 3 felony
  • One count of criminal confinement, a Level 3 felony
  • One count of domestic battery with a firearm, a Level 5 felony

At around 11 a.m. on Monday, officers with the Kokomo Police Department responded to a reported domestic disturbance. An individual reportedly told police she was being held against her will by a person later identified as Allen.

When officers arrived at the home where the disturbance was reported, it was reportedly empty. Within a few hours, the release said that the suspect’s vehicle was located in Indianapolis. The victim was found to have minor injuries and transported back to Kokomo…
