James Doran was arrested Sunday night after crashing his car. He resigned and was dishonorably discharged from the state police. Police say the crash sent two people to the hospital after they were rear-ended at a stop light. The impact of the crash was hard enough to deploy airbags and caused heavy damage to the front of the trooper’s car, according to NBC Boston.

Officers say the former trooper was outside his car, slurring his words and smelling of alcohol, with open bottles in his car.

Doran was sworn into the Massachusetts State Police just three weeks ago. He’s due back in court on December 6th for a pretrial hearing.
