The restaurant now known as Meze Estiatorio in Worcester has been a long time in the making, steeped in family tradition, deep-rooted history, and, of course, amazing food. Its origins trace back to the beautifully secluded village of Hrisohorafa, on the eastern bank of Lake Kerkini in Macedonia, Greece. In this tranquil part of the world, meals were never just about sustenance—they were about family, culture, and a connection to the land. The ingredients were grown or living on your own land, and the recipes were passed down by word of mouth, from one generation to the next.
Fast forward a couple hundred years, and the culinary traditions of this Macedonian village have crossed the Atlantic to find a home in Worcester, Massachusetts. First-generation Greek-Americans now serve what they know best—authentic, unadulterated Greek food.
