Gov. Hobbs honors those who helped save 100+ in Havasupai flooding

PHOENIX (AZFamily)— Gov. Hobbs and several tribal and state leaders honored emergency rescue crews and community members who saved lives during the August flooding at Havasupai.

Two months ago, 104 tourists had to be airlifted out of Havasupai Falls because of flash flooding at the Grand Canyon. It was one of our Arizona National Guard’s largest domestic rescue missions to date.

For two days, five soldiers took a Blackhawk down into the canyon and airlifted hikers and members of the tribe who were stranded on the cliffs and trails…
