Prosecutors in Mobile ask jurors to hold defendants accountable for ‘death and violence’

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A murder-for-hire conspiracy case that federal prosecutors have described as a two-state reign of terror soon will be in the hands of the jury.

Prosecutors and lawyers for three people charged with plotting to kill a man delivered closing arguments Thursday. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gaillard Sam Ladd made his case that two nightclub shootings months apart in Mobile in 2022, a shooting later that year at a Walmart off of Interstate 65 and a killing during an attempted carjacking outside of a Mississippi casino all were connected.
