Families can join the fun with the Folsom Police and Fire Departments at their annual Public Safety Trunk-or-Treat this Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the Folsom Police Department at 46 Natoma St.
Entry is free. Participants are encouraged to come in costume and collect treats while exploring police cars and fire trucks, checking out SWAT equipment, and meeting K-9s, mounted officers, patrol officers, firefighters, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers, and other first responders and frontline workers. The department requests that attendees avoid costumes that include replica weapons.
The event, held annually, provides families with a safe outing to celebrate Halloween. Parking will be available at Folsom City Hall and the nearby Folsom Community Center. The Trunk-or-Treat offers a safe, daytime alternative to traditional trick-or-treating and is especially popular with young children.
