(FOX40.COM) — SacRT said Friday that it planned to build a number of new bus shelters after it was selected for a state grant.
The agency said it would use the $449,900 grant to build up to 20 “heat-resilient” shelters at existing bus stop locations that already have the space for one.
SacRT said many of the spaces that fit that description are currently located in “disadvantaged and low-income communities disproportionately affected by rising temperatures.”
