Residents in extreme southwestern California, including Orange, San Diego, western Riverside, and southwestern San Bernardino counties, can expect a shift to cooler temperatures early next week, according to the National Weather Service San Diego (NWS San Diego). The report details a trend that will bring high temperatures in coastal areas down to 62 to 67 degrees by next Tuesday, with western valleys and inland Orange County seeing highs between 65 and 69 degrees. Inland valleys are anticipated to experience a decrease to 62 to 69 degrees, while the mountains, at elevations between 4000 ft and 7000 ft, are bracing for cooler 46 to 56-degree weather.

The NWS San Diego also forecasts a downward trend for the deserts, with the high desert preparing for temperatures of 59 to 64 degrees and the low desert anticipating 74 to 78 degrees. Today’s weather, meanwhile, is a study in contrasts, with coastal areas seeing highs from 71 to 81 degrees and the lower deserts hitting a much warmer 94 to 97 degrees; however, a cool down is on the horizon as high temperatures for inland areas are expected to fall from today’s 10 to 15 degrees above average to 10 to 15 degrees below average by next Tuesday according to a separate statement obtained by NWS San Diego.

Looking to the skies, aviation impacts are minimal, with isolated low clouds and fog along the coast not expected to affect coastal airports this morning.
