Earlier this week, the Carolina Panthers parted ways with veteran defensive lineman Jonathan Harris. Harris appeared in seven games with the Panthers after Carolina claimed him off the Miami Dolphins practice squad in October.
The 28-year-old defensive end played a considerable amount of snaps on defense (26 percent), recording 10 total tackles and a fumble recovery. However, Carolina wanted to go in a different direction with only two games left in the regular season.
To take his spot on the 53-man roster, Carolina signed linebacker Chandler Wooten off the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad on Christmas Eve. It didn’t come as a surprise to see Carolina add a linebacker, given their lack of depth due to injuries.
