Massachusetts Wind Advisory Remains in Effect Through Friday Morning: Gusts Up to 50 MPH Expected

Boston, MA – Gusty northwest winds continue to batter much of Massachusetts today, with a wind advisory in effect until 1 a.m. Friday. Wind speeds between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, are creating hazardous travel conditions and the potential for isolated power outages.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), unsecured objects and tree limbs could be blown down by the winds, especially along elevated roadways like I-93. Drivers of high-profile vehicles are urged to exercise caution, as strong gusts can make handling difficult. Residents should secure loose outdoor items and prepare for possible power disruptions.

Snow showers are also expected to persist through Thursday afternoon, especially in the Boston metro area. While no significant accumulation is predicted, visibility may drop during heavier bursts of snow. Temperatures will hover near 29°F, with wind chills making it feel closer to 10°F.
