BOSTON (WWLP) – A western Massachusetts senator held a ceremony at the State House on Wednesday to honor the contributions of two organizations to the Polish-American community.
One honoree was the Polish Center of Discovery and Learning in Chicopee, which was recognized for their work in honoring and preserving Polish culture and history.
Senator Jacob Oliveira, who co-chairs the Polish-American Caucus at the State House, told 22News about the role of his culture and history in Massachusetts. “Both organizations celebrate Polish Americans, which are such an important part of the ethnic makeup of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, particularly in western Mass. and my hometown of Ludlow,” said Oliveira. “Keeping that Polish-American culture alive, and that strong connection that Massachusetts has with Poland is the idea around today’s presentations.”…
