The Westborough Fire Department rescued a dog and four cats from a house fire early Sunday morning, which rendered the home “uninhabitable,” officials say.

At 12:54 a.m., firefighters responded to 3 Fisher St. for a report of a fire, according to a statement from the department.

At the scene, crews were met with “heavy fire showing from the house,” the statement said. Authorities said residents had already evacuated, but multiple animals remained inside.
