Alexander Wolpe, age 54, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully Sunday December 29, 2024. Born January 11, 1970 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Alex’s super power is a lifelong ability to make people love him. A unique person, born with many challenges and not expected to survive; fortunately he chose to stay and gift us with his sense of humor and love of life for 54 years.
Alex lived with his family until age 24, then moved to Milestone’s Applewood Residence. He loved people watching and laughing at all the activity going on. Although he was nonverbal, everyone knew exactly what he meant. His favorite people were proud when he greeted them with “Hey” and a hug; his mother and stepfather’s pride and joy. As the end became certain, the many, many people who cherished him showered us with love and care. Alex brought out the very best in everyone blessed to know him and as an organ donor he is living on and providing a chance of new life to others.
