ORANGEVILLE, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — NUIC North and NUIC West powers Orangeville and Galena staged a great battle Monday night in Orangeville with the Galena Pirates prevailing 49-42. It was a tight game all the way. It was tied 34-34 after three quarters before Galena nudged out front for good. All-State senior Gracie Furlong led Galena with 25 points. Orangeville’s Laney Cahoon scored 24 points. Point guard Nadalee Doyle added 16 points for the Broncos including four three-point baskets. Galena’s overall record is now 8-6. Orangeville’s is 15-3.
