Century-old Bay Area ice cream favorite is expanding

The Bay Area’s oldest drive-thru ice cream shop is expanding.

Meadowlark Dairy, which has served creamy soft serve ice cream in Pleasanton for over 100 years, is opening a second location in downtown Livermore, as first reported by Livermore Vine . It is set to arrive this spring at 2287 Second St., a large, former Bank of the West space with an existing drive-thru.

There’s often a long line of people at the beloved, old-school institution waiting for velvety soft serve in flavors from salted caramel and coconut to mango (no toppings allowed here). In recent years, Meadowlark has also become a social media sensation, with a cult-like following for seasonal flavor drops and silly videos made by young employees…
