Early this morning, the Piedmont Police Department apprehended two individuals linked to a series of car burglaries. According to a social media post by the department, vigilant residents on the 400 block of Blair Avenue reported suspicious activity involving shattered car windows and possessions taken from cars. Responding officers swiftly located the red Toyota Corolla described by the resident, which led to the detention and eventual arrest of the suspects found inside.
The swift response resulted in officers quickly catching up to the suspect vehicle. Upon initiating a traffic stop, they discovered both occupants covered in auto glass and sporting open cuts on their hands, along with tools used for breaking into vehicles. The car contained personal items such as wallets, glasses, backpacks, and bags.
