Closed indefinitely: Virus forces 2 Fresno Chaffee Zoo exhibits to shutdown

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The Fresno Chaffee Zoo announced Friday that they have temporarily closed two exhibits due to the bird flu.

Zoo officials say both walkthrough aviaries, including the Tropical Rainforest and the Australasian Aviary, are closed indefinitely as a precaution; however, their Winged Wonders Bird Show and Macaw Flight experiences will still take place.

The closure came only days before the first U.S. bird flu death was announced in Louisiana.
