Coach Skip on 33-10 win over SJSU: ‘We were able to confuse them’

The Fresno State Bulldogs delivered a lopsided 33-10 victory against the rival San Jose State Spartans on Saturday. Interim head coach Tim Skipper reacted to the victory in his postgame press conference.

SJSU connected on passes of 40 and 35 yards on their opening drive to take an early 7-0 lead. The Bulldogs went on to score 33 unanswered points before a final Spartan field goal.

“How the game started out, they hit some passes on us,” Skipper said. “We wanted to try to see if we could handle those guys in man and they took advantage of it. Some leverage things, the formations and the splits they have, we messed that up. But we settled down after that. I think Kevin Coyle did a great job mixing the coverages, keeping them off balance. We saw three different quarterbacks tonight and did a great job there.”…
