Hanford Police names drive-by shooting victim, teen suspect arrested

HANFORD, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The Hanford Police Department identified the man killed in a drive-by shooting earlier this week during a press conference on Thursday. Along with the Kings County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement also announced the arrest of the 16-year-old suspect in two shooting cases.

On Wednesday, the Hanford Police Department said a man was killed while he was driving north on 10th Avenue in Hanford. The man, identified as 23-year-old Cruz David Avalos of Hanford, had stopped at the southeast corner of East Lacey Boulevard when the driver of a black Nissan Versa pulled next to him and fired multiple shots.

Police say they arrived at the scene and found the vehicle with numerous bullet holes. Avalos was found unresponsive and with multiple gunshot wounds. He passed away in the hospital. A 16-year-old male who was living in Hanford was identified as the suspect in the drive-by shooting…
